Cooking Method 1 ( Flakes Upma) :
• Rinse 1 cup of flakes (thinly flattened millet) under cold water and drain well.
• Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
• Add chopped onions, green chilies, and sauté until onions turn translucent.
• Mix in the flakes and salt. Stir well.
• Cover and cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes until the flakes are soft and cooked through.
• Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
Cooking Method 2 ( Sweet Flakes) :
• Rinse and drain 1 cup of flakes.
• Heat a tablespoon of ghee in a pan and add flakes along with chopped nuts (like almonds or cashews).
• Sauté until the flakes turn slightly golden brown.
• Add milk and sugar to taste. Cook until the mixture thickens.
• Serve hot as a nutritious and sweet breakfast option.
